Have You Ever Thought About Free CNA Classes?
Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Necessary funds required for free CNA training have been raised through public monetary fines imposed upon nursing homes penalized by OSDH, for providing poor quality standards. Possibilities of some of the CNAs from these nursing homes only, turning into recipients of the scholarships cannot be denied, as it has been specifically aimed to enhance complete patient-care in long term health care set-ups. The mainstay behind offering free CNA training is basically for the up-gradation of expertise and know-how of the nursing aides up to the level of CNA-2. Simultaneously Tulsa Community College is also proffering higher training to CNAs who wish to approach up to the level of CNA-3; however it is not a sponsored course.
Certified Nursing Aides employed with long-term health care settings and skilled nursing care facilities have more eligibility prospects to avail this OSDH-sponsorship program. This fund based program is appositely named as “CNA Career Ladder Program”, as suggested from the name itself, it has been designed for the working CNAs with the aim of serving as a ladder in their forthcoming career expansion. It is a blend of traditional classes and laboratory work in conjunction to online classes, leading further to have all the students pass the CNA skill test with ‘flying colors’. In order to chip in this program, every student must have already completed online training-work and should possess steadfast computer accessibility.
It’s obligatory for all the students to get themselves enrolled in Tulsa Community College already. However admission in this college does not promise any consent of scholarship or enrollment in the CNA training course. Due to limited seats and sponsorship, putting your application at the earliest possible is highly recommended. Entitling to avail the sponsored funds, it is quite essential for all applicants appearing in the placement test for reading and sentence skills taken by the college and passing it with a minimum of 80% marks. Moreover, it is expected from all candidates to complete a minimum of 12 college credit hours, along with a 3.0 minimum GPA. Apart from this all applicants must possess at least 6 month’s prior work experience in a health care set-up. Letter of recommendation by the administrator must also be attached with your application.
This free CNA training program encompasses 30 hours of training covering five days, and is split into 11 breaking modules each having 3 hours time length. The focal points of this training are teamwork, communication, safety, nutrition, dementia care, aging and illness, restorative care, quality of life, spirituality, culture change, death and importance of family. Lastly, in order to obtain CNA certification students must pass the state exam.
Above and beyond the OSDH-funding program, other free training programs are also available, most of them online. Ensure always to check the authenticity of these programs, as to whether they are intended to prepare for the state certification exam or not or do they exist for the purpose of general information only. Also make a note that Red Cross CNA Classes are not free anymore.

The Natural Health Attitude
Tuesday, July 6, 2010
- It’s easy to see why. The wide range of health benefits that can be obtained by taking natural health products are certainly impressive, in particular the products that manage to offer an array of benefits in themselves, products such as oregano oil, apple cider vinegar and colloidal silver.
- All of these products are completely natural and provide an array of benefits. Oregano oil is primarily used for digestive health in promoting healthy gut flora, which in turn can lead to better overall health, and is known to be good at fighting yeast overgrowth. Apple cider vinegar has been variously prescribed for colds/flus, allergies, fatigue, diabetes and many more going all the way back to Hippocrates himself. Colloidal silver was the precursor to modern antibiotics, and is known to be a powerful anti-septic.
- The interesting thing to note of course is that people who tend to buy apple cider vinegar or oregano oil, will be the same people who buy colloidal silver .That is to say, natural health products haven’t become mainstream enough to appeal to people who still regard conventional medicine as their primary means of fighting ailments. Natural health products appeal to people who like natural products generally or are left-of-centre in their views of pharmaceuticals.
- This isn’t a problem so to speak, it is just interesting to note that products like apple cider vinegar, oregano oil and colloidal silver remain a niche concern, despite growing mainstream support for the ideas that motivate the people who do buy them to buy them.
